Capsule Makeup Bag For A Busy Mum

As you know, as a busy mum of one, you may not get much time to spend on putting on makeup everyday. In the past couple of years, I've been perfecting my skills of applying makeup in under 10 minutes and I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I've got this small makeup bag from Benefit, and I've been keeping all my everyday makeup essentials in this tiny little bag. It is just the right size to fit my 11-piece makeup collection. So let's see what I've got in here.

1. Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Powder

A light weight setting powder that offers a long lasting matte finish. I absolutely love this powder as it is translucent so suits many skin tones, and leaves the skin a silky soft feel. I always think that for face powders, it is really worth it to splurge on a good quality, high-end one. This powder at £29, though not the cheapest on the market, it will last you at least a whole year!

This is a newbie I got from my previous Birchbox subscription. This is a light weight, dry finish, multi-purpose oil that can be used for face, hair and body all year round. It is made up of 98% natural ingredients and plant oils, and it smells incredible! I normally use it on my cheeks for a subtle dewy finish.

3. Benefit Gold Rush Blusher Blusher

A new blusher I also got from my September Birchbox. The blush gives a golden sheen to your cheek, perfect for those days that you need an instant pick-me-up to brighten up your complexion. The colour however is a bit too subtle on my skin and I do wish it shows a bit more.

4. Ella Eden Compact Eye Shadow

This is a small compact mineral eyeshadow in the shade Faith. The colour is so pigmented and is really easy and quick to apply. I normally use this together with the shadow sticks which you can see from the photo.

5. LOC Eyeshadow Sticks

You'll get hours of creaseless, waterproof colour in literally one easy swipe. Can't express how much I love eyeshadow sticks, they are just such great time saviours! I don't even need a brush to apply them, just use my fingers to blend.

This mascara is just something I picked up in Boots when my favourite mascara They Are Real from Benefit ran out of date. It is not as great as the Benefit one but much more affordable.

7. Max Factor Brow Shaper Pencil

I had eyebrow microblading done last year so my brows don't generally need much attention - another time saviour for the mums and I highly recommend it! As I didn't get around to do the colour touch-ups, my brows are fading a bit in colour. I picked up this brow pencil from Boots just to add more colour to my brows.

A really long-wearing eyeliner I've been loving recently. It is very easy to apply with its soft, thin tip and is smudge-proof.

The satiny pink liquid highlighter is great for accenting cheeks. I use it over makeup for a dewy glow. The best thing about it is no brushes needed!

My go-to bronzer and I've been using it for years. It is really flattering for my skin tone and is best for those days that you haven't slept well and desperately needs to inject some colour to your complexion. I also love the brush it comes with, which makes the application stress-free.
