Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder Review

I've been on the hunt for a good face powder for a while now, this time, instead of hitting the drugstore, I decided to take the plunge and splurge on a high-end powder. After all, it usually lasts for a good few months.

I was torn between the much praised Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and the Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder, but I just can't justify spending £50 on a face powder! When my local department store was running a 10% discount promotion on bank holiday, I took my chance and made the purchase for the Laura Mercier Powder. Don't get me wrong, £32 is still expensive, even after the discount, but I am sure it is worth the money.

As a blogger, you know I would not try a new makeup without taking loads of pictures and that was exactly what happened!

Shall we take a moment to appreciate the packaging? It may sound ridiculous to some people, packaging, does it matter? Yes! I do appreciate a sleek design and sturdy case, it just feels so luxurious and makes you want to treasure it.

I went for the lightest shade but to be honest, it is more like a translucent powder which is what I love. It has a silky texture, and as the name suggests, it gives a sheer glow when you apply all over the face. The glow is very natural and subtle, I apply it all over my face as a makeup setting powder. I love the soft, candlelit soft-focus effect it has on the skin, it subtly blurs the imperfections without looking cake. You can use it as a highlighter by using different brushes, however, I have not tried it yet as I am still very satisfied with my Benefit High Beam Complexion Enhancer.

This little number has become part of my everyday beauty routine and I can't recommend it enough. Have you tried any of Laura Mercier products? What's your favourite face powder? Leave a comment below to let me know.
