Natural Wavy Hair Tutorial - How To Curl Your Hair (video)

New video filmed yesterday and I spent about 5 hours editing it. It took me at least 3 hours to upload it to Youtube as the HD file was so large, although it is only a 5 minutes video. I wonder how other bloggers can upload over 15 minutes' videos, how long will it take them?

I set up a nice backdrop for this video, recycling my Christmas light! Also with two lovely kindles which made such a big difference.

My Favourite Jumper From Wallis

I thought I'd write a blog about my favourite jumper from Wallis, which I got as a Christmas gift from my fiance. I have been wearing it A LOT lately!

It is in a lovely blushed baby pink, which is really endearing. It has one zip on the side of the shoulder each, which is quite funky.

I am wearing the necklace I got from New Look sale, only £2! The jeans are also a gift from my fiance last last Christmas. They are basically my GO-TO jeans, been wearing them a lot!

Westfield Shopping Haul (Part 2) - Kate Spade Bag and Gilly Hicks

I love shopping at the sale season! So many stores offering such enticing discounts. I have been wanting to get a nice designer yet affordable black leather bag, where else have more options than Westfield shopping centre?

I headed to Michael Kors, Guess, Coach and quite a few other stores, but in the end I came across this beauty from Kate Spade. I think Kate Spade is less known in the UK and I think they only have a couple of boutiques including the one opened last year on Oxford Street? Let me know if I'm wrong though.

The bag was originally sold for over £300 but was on sale for about £200. The store was running a further reduction with extra 20% off, so I got it for £175. What a bargain!

It is a very structured (which I like) in a patterned patent leather. It was designed specifically for people to hold their technical stuff - it has an ipad slot inside, which comes quite handle if you carry it around. The logo is quite subtle with a little golden heart and the brand in grey. You will definitely not find yourself walking on the street surrounded by people wearing the same logo-ed bag such as the golden MK. Haha!

I just think it's so elegant and classy. Definitely a wardrobe stable for me!

I also stumbled upon this store, Gilly Hicks, who happened to be running a semi-annual sale in store. All bras in this store are sold at £ 14.50. They have such amazing quality as well. Had to bag myself a set, plus who doesn't need some new underwear?

I also have to mention the unique decor of the Gilly Hicks store. It was like a secret garden, with lots of individual rooms. And I love the scent too!

Westfield Shopping City Haul (Part 1) - Little Black Jacket

Last Friday I went to Westfield Shopping City with my friend. Got quite a few bits from the sales! I love shopping! Doesn't it just make you so happy! (Although actually I spend my money very wisely and don't often spoil myself.)

I have always wanted to buy a black leather jacket. I've never owned a black leather jacket, the only one I got is a burgundy faux leather one from Forever 21. I thought they are a bit too harsh and not feminine but lately my fashion sense changed a lot. I think they can be so versatile that they can become a wardrobe stable. I wanted to look for a good quality one so I can wear it a lot.

Really lucky that I came across this gorgeous jacket from PULL & BEAR. It is very well made from soft, genuine leather. Even better, it was on sale, reduced from £89 to £49! What a bargain for a leather number!

My Favourites from Top Drawer London Show

Today I took a trip to Earls Court Exhibition Centre to attend the Top Drawer Show. I was so excited about it that I felt like a child the playground. There were so many beautiful things to see. I wish I could take pictures but unfortunately we were not allowed to do so. I collected a few leaflets from the exhibitors and here are some of my favourite ones.

1. JewelCity
(Credit: JewelCity.co.uk)

Jewelcity are leading suppliers of fashion accessories to independent retailers. With an extensive range of jewellery, scarves, handbags and more, there is something for every boutique. This season sees intricate prints, statement handbags and elegant jewellery as the key pieces. Pastels are on trend with mint green and sweet pinks being the most popular colours.

2. Kate Hamilton-Hunter

Designed by Kate and created on the stunning coast of North Wales, their  jewellery is upcycled from  modern and vintage tins including biscuit, toffee, cake and tea tins! Wonderful!

3. Heaven Sends

(Credit: Heaven Sends)

Heaven Sends are a wholesaler of unique and quirky, design-led gifts and decorations. The highlight of their SS14 collection includes their Eclectic Nostalgia range, with its faded charm. You'll love rediscovering a profusion of patterns in black and white and shabby chic.

4. Hana Blossom by Thang Tho Ltd

They make super cute candles! Even better, they have floating candles! Imagine those little candles floating in a crystal clear water bowels. I am seriously considering ordering some for my wedding. Their collections include extraordinary handmade scented flower candles, flower tea lights, flower floating candles and luxurious Hana Blossom natural wax candles. They recently launched home porcelain fragrance diffuser range and new gift box sets.

My 10 New Year Resolutions for 2014

Half of January has almost gone, and I think it's high time that I wrote down my New Year resolution now. 2014 is a very important year to me - I will be married this year! Yay! I would like to make a few changes to myself and my life.

1. Work out more.

I didn't get to do much fitness activities last year, and I do feel that it affected my fitness in some way. This year I'd like to pick up Yoga and join a few other fitness classes. Need to sign up to a new gym soon!

Goal: to work out 30 mins per day.

2. Learn to dance.

I'd like to do Salsa and other ballroom dances. We've got a local Salsa club nearby, so that should worth checking out. My fiance and I are also going to dance lessons to prepare for our first dance on our wedding. I always wanted to dance, and I wish I took ballet lessons when I was a child. But never mind, now I'm giving myself that chance.

Goal: go to dance class at least once a week.

3. Learn to drive.

Need to do it now! My provisional licence should be on its way now. As soon as I receive it, I'm going to start driving lessons. My fiance bought me 10 driving lessons for Christmas! He's the best!

Goal: pass driving test this year.

4. Learn to swim.

I find it embarrassing that I can't swim. Really need to get this out of the way.

Goal: Be able to swim.

5. Build my blog/Youtube

Set myself a challenge to really develop my blog. I am very passionate about blogging, and I really hope to make more efforts on it. I also want to start a Youtube channel. Now I'm learning video editing tutorials.

Goal: get 1000 followers on at least one of the main platforms.

6. Read more books.

Since leaving uni, I rarely touched books, which is terrible! This year I'd like to read more books to get myself some spiritual nutrition.

Goal: read every day, even if it's just for 10 minutes. Finish at least 3 books this year.

7. Treat my partner better.

As your relationship develops, you tend to ignore your partner or make less effort to your partner. My problem is, when I'm upset or something, I tend to lose my patience/temper very easily. I sometimes raise my voice towards him or even shout like a child, that is so bad, I know! This year, I will work on myself and try to treat him better. Honestly, he is the best man I've ever known and ever been with, and I shouldn't forget that just because I'm getting a bit too comfortable in this relationship.

Goal: control my temper. Count to 60 before acting. Get myself to a different room when I am upset to cool myself down. And do not raise my voice to him.

8. Communicate more with my family.

I live in a different country than my families and sometimes I forget to call them more often. I need to make more efforts and pay more attention to them as they are the most important people in my life.

Goal: Call my parents at least once a week. Call (not just messaging) my brothers at least once a week. Call my grandparents at least once a month.

9. Make more new friends and connect with old friends.

This past year, I realised that friends are so important. Because of my work, it was hard to find new friends, but I really need to make more efforts to build my friends circles.

10. Count my blessings and be happy.

Whenever I feel insecure, try to give myself a compliment. I sometimes can be very competitive. She's better-looking than me? She's thinner than me? She's younger than me? She's more successful than me? Really? I tend to forget that I am just as beautiful, healthy, young and successful as the one to whom I compare.

Nobody is perfect. Always remind myself that. Tell yourself the reasons why you should be proud of yourself.

Designing My Wedding Invitation - Part 1

Yes, I am getting married! There is nothing more exciting than that, but planning my big day can be stressful. You have to spend a lot of time looking for the perfect venue, finding a photographer and videographer, florist, make up artist, hair stylist, the list goes on...

Neither my fiancé nor I wanted an extravagant wedding, instead we are looking to have an intimate and tasteful wedding. My opinion is, as important as the day is to us, it is just not sensible to splash a big fortune on one day that put you in debt for the years to come. A carefully managed and wisely budgeted wedding can just be as memorable!

From this post on, I'm going to write a series of wedding related posts. I want to do this for myself, so that in the future, I can come back and read what I've written and re-live this experience over and over again.

My recent project is to design and order our wedding invitation. After considering the costs from bespoke wedding stationery suppliers as well as affordable ones, we decided to order our basic wedding invitations from a budget supplier, then customise and do some DIY job to add some personal touches!

I came across this supplier called Pure Invitation and here are a few of my favourite designs below.

They just look so classy and elegant, so it is going to be hard for us to choose which style to go with. Personally I prefer the first style, but in a simple fold instead of a pocket fold. Then of course, they all come with a pretty high price tag!

I found this supplier on ebay here who offers versatile styles with affordable prices. The good thing is, they can customise all the designs to your requests.

So far I quite like this design below -

I asked them if we can get the size of the swirl patterns reduced, they said no problem! So I'm pretty chuffed about that. I'm thinking to order from them, and add a thin lace and satin bow myself to achieve a similar design to the first style.

We are going to make a decision tonight. I can't wait to get started!
